Fifteen plus years and we've still got it? Whatever "it" is, I'm so glad this man is beside me even if I don't see him enough these days. He is a source of humor, inspiration and love. Aww. We have a doctored version of this picture where we have neither wrinkles nor blemishes but our computer doesn't want us to be deceptive, I guess! Nico actually took this picture after previous attempts with our older children at the helm, and of course, the 5 yr. old's comes out the best, ha ha.

Crazy Little Thing Called Love

Fall Means Rugby (and Much More)
Ahh, the fall leaves and brisk days. . .fall is finally here. Here's a photo of Monet's pad, the lily pad. Thanks, I'll be here all week. :) The weather has been so beautiful and the Rugby World Cup has just been won by South Africa. Yes, if you're wondering the French lost in the semis, always a bride but never a bridesmaid. They did beat The All Blacks so all was not lost. When we lived here in 1999, the French also defeated New Zealand and went on to lose in the finals so we're either a good luck charm or a curse! Rugby is very demanding and those guys all give 100%. We weren't wealthy enough to score tickets but enjoyed watching the matches on t.v.
We've had some friends from CA, Dawna & Scott Snyder here for a visit. They've been pretty brave traveling all over including Normandy and Switzerland. We went out to dinner last night in Paris and got caught in crazy traffic. There was the Rugby 3rd Place (consolation) game in town, a transportation strike, various town festivities occuring plus general Fri. night traffic. It was so bad it was humorous. Our yummy dinner was worth it, though! We have the world's sweetest babysitter, Marianne. She is 17, almost 18 and still makes time to watch our kids despite having a boyfriend and busy life.
Mark has had a non-stop schedule with work travel and presentations for his two jobs. We wish they'd hurry up and let us all know what's happening with the position so perhaps he could slow down a bit? This isn't possible since 1) he's a Hamberlin and 2) he's a hardworking perfectionist. Can't change the man but I don't want to since I love him just the way he is. The kids are well. We're gearing up for a week in Germany as there is a school break from Oct. 29 to Nov. 4. We will finally visit the Frankfurt Temple and do some touristy things in the area. Mark has to work two days but we'll take what we can get. We'll also go to Legoland in Gunzburg. That's the kids' reward for their patience in the car, at the temple, etc.
